THE DREAM OF BUILDING: THE SPANISH CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY INFORMS THE PEOPLE OF ESSEN ABOUT THEMSELVES.
As part of the 1150th anniversary celebrations of Essen Abbey and the City of Essen, the BDA-Essen and the city’s council organise the event series ‘Essen experiences architecture’.
DER TRAUM VOM BAUEN, developed in cooperation with architect Georg Ruhnau, is presented to Essen’s citizens as a model at several exhibitions. Finally completed in the summer of 2002, the project saw 90% of the material and construction costs covered by the citizens themselves, reflecting a deep community investment in the endeavour.
